Master - Seminar - Gamification of ethical dilemmas
In human subjects research, specifically as it pertains to topics such as IT security and privacy, we sometimes come across moral or ethical dilemmas. One example of such a dilemma would be the degree to which we as a society should condone digital surveillance from law enforcement to protect victims of crime, as opposed to protecting the right to privacy of each individual online.
The attitudes that participants have towards these dilemmas are often multi-faceted, and cannot be easily investigated with traditional surveys. Thus, the goal of this seminar is finding alternative, gamified methods of observing reactions to ethical dilemmas.
Your goal in this seminar would be to get a comprehensive overview over possible implementations of gamified moral dilemmas. You would research different existing games and gamified approaches, as well as evaluate the possibilities of designing and creating a mod for existing bigger games. Afterwards, compare and contrast these approaches and come to a conclusion on which one would be most feasible for the given purpose.
Experience with playing or designing games is not required, but would be helpful.

Good starting points would be the Moral Machine, or short games like Reigns.
